Ash Class

"The raised expectations in pupils' progress is confirmed in pupils' work in books, visits to the classrooms, discussion with pupils and the school's own checks of the quality of teaching over time".

Ofsted Inspection Report, 2015

Welcome to Mrs Watt's class - September 2018

WELCOME BACK!

We have an exciting term ahead as we learn more about the most powerful country on Earth - The United States of America. Not only will we learn about the varied geography of the landscape, we will look at the work of famous American artists and musicians. In class, we will be reading the novel Holes by Louis Sachar and using this as the basis for our English lessons. Later, in Term 2, we will find out about the lifestyle of Native Americans - far more sophisticated than the stereotypical savages portrayed in cowboy films. The autumn curriculum newsletter gives you an overview of what we will be learning but to find out more detail look at the individual subject information sheets below.

Useful Information:

Support: We are supported as a class in the morning by Mrs Nelis.

PE is on Tuesday and Friday this term

Homework is given out on Wednesdays and should be returned by Monday. Each week there will be English, Topic or Science homework, maths homework and spelling homework. In addition, you are expected to read regularly.

Reading is of paramount importance and should be practised at home at least 4 times a week. Any reading should be recorded in reading records, which should be returned weekly on Mondays.
