Welcome to the Peace Team site. Peace is not something you merely wish for: it's something you make, something you do, something you are and something you give away. That is why we are here to help.

Supporting the Nepal Earthquake

Mount Everest Challenge

All day on Friday 22nd May 2015, the whole school took part in a fun challenge arranged by Year 6. Each year group had a certain distance to walk, and at the end of it, the school had walked the height of Mount Everest. Different year groups had a variety of obstacles to pass because when walking up Mount Everest, there are many challenges you have to face. When the school had reached the height of Mount Everest, everyone experienced a great sense of achievement. Each pupil brought in a donation of £1 to take part in the challenge, which was a great success.

Healthy Snack Sale

On Friday 22nd May 2015, the Peace Team and some volunteers organised a Healthy Snack Sale after school in aid of the Nepal Earthquake appeal. Lots of people very kindly donated fruit, milk, and milkshake powder. Before the sale, the Peace Team were busy chopping and slicing up a variety of fruit to make some mouth – watering kebabs including the following: pineapple, kiwi, melon, strawberries and mango. A popcorn maker was used to make some salted popcorn.

The helpers were fully occupied selling and making milkshakes; they could barely keep up with the demand! It was a very rewarding and hugely successful as the sale alone raised over £200 towards the Earthquake appeal.

In Term 3 we will be investigating the possibility of setting up a Peace Team bench, where people can go to cool down if they are finding things difficult. A member of the Peace Team will then be available to talk the person through their dilemma.  In response to the story of Sadako Sasaki, a Japanese child campaigner for peace and victim of the Hiroshima bombing, we will be folding paper cranes. We hope to send some of our birds to the Children's Peace Memorial in Japan, to show our support for this cause.
