What is Micklands PTA?
A PTA is a Parent Teacher Association, an organisation with a mission to make the school a better place for children to learn. Micklands PTA brings together parents, teachers and children to strengthen the school community by running events and raising funds. The Money raised is spent on things that the school budget does not cover.
Micklands PTA became a registered charity in 2015. (Charity number: 1181751)

The Difference you make
Thanks to the incredible support received from parents, teachers, friends, kids and the local community, the PTA provides equipment, resources and opportunities that enable the whole school to thrive.
In recent times your PTA has been able to donate funds for:
· Playground equipment for Key stage 1 and 2
· LEAF outdoor learning experiences
· Toys and games for the classrooms for when it’s too wet to play outdoors
· Buddy benches for the playgrounds
· Festive treats and feel good events
Our Activity
Throughout the school year, your PTA runs events that are designed to raise smiles as well as donations. You’ll always find a packed calendar of activity, including these annual favourites:
· Mickfest – the big summer fair
· School disco’s every term
· Bakes sales
· Quiz and Curry Night (for parents)
· Christmas market
Check the school newsletter and social media for what’s coming up next.
How to get involved
You can make a real difference to Micklands by doing your bit. There are loads of ways to get involved:
· Give us your time and volunteer – we couldn’t do any of our activities or events without help, so please think about what you can do to support your PTA.
Got an hour? Help run a stall at a bake sale or at the summer fair
Got 2 hours? You can make school discos magical (and get your groove on!)
Got a little longer? Get planning! We always need a helping hand to plan events and activities so come along to a meeting and share your ideas and enthusiasm.
Never helped out at something like before? Not a problem! Sign up to help and your committee will guide you and explain what needs doing.
· Hire our party pack
If you’re hosting an event of your own, hire our sustainable party pack. It’s got enough colourful cups, plates, bowls, party platters and jugs to serve 30 people. It costs just £7 to hire. To hire the pack, email: micklandspta@gmail.com
· Shop online
You can make a huge difference to our fundraising efforts if you use https://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/ when you shop online. It won’t cost you a penny extra, but they make a charitable gift to Micklands PTA every time you shop. Use it when you make big purchases like renewing your car insurance or doing your Christmas shopping.
· Bake us or buy us a cake!
There are regular cake sales each term, so when it’s your turn to contribute, please help out by donating baked goods. You don’t have to make them yourself!
· Need uniform? Think PTA first!
Buying pre-loved school uniform is planet friendly and budget friendly too. Shop at our pre-loved uniform sales and pick up a bargain on all those essentials including school logo jumpers and cardigans.
· Ask your boss about match-funding
Lots of employers offer a matched funding scheme where they will donate to charity if you help out. Please ask your employer whether they can support Micklands PTA.
· Making a donation
Donations of baked goods and raffle prizes are always welcome, but charitable donations are very welcome too. If you would like to make a gift, this can be done online via bank transfer:
Bank Account: 00284130
Sort code: 20-71-03
